Oh yes, we all know that but it isn't really necessary for short networks
of a few stations like we all have in our bedrooms.
In fact, the SJ Research Econet Installation Instructions describe an alternative
set-up where you have the clock box at one end of the network with one of
the sockets going to a socket box and the other socket containing an SJ
terminator plug.

Were you aware that Acorn's installation guidelines for Econet
recommended that networks were split into two roughly equal halves, with
the Level 2 clock box in the middle, connecting the two halves together?
