Are you sure you mean the parity mod, or did you mean the SCSI/2 mod?
(nothing to do with SCSI-2 in the usual sense, confusingly).

The SCSI/2 mod is required for all the later FS versions (unless you want
the whole thing to be read only).

I have a 240GB drive on my MDFS and that doesn't have the parity mod,
however the drive has parity disabled (AIUI the parity mod 'fakes' the
parity for drives that require it).

If anyone wants the drive (complete with MDFS slice) let me know.
