My master is the same, but had a strange american single cell 4.5v battery
in the catridge/speaker assembly. The battery did not quite fit and was
forced cracking the plastic on the cartridge/speaker assembly. I beleive
this is the exploding battery setup, again my motherboard is issue 1 with
similar date stamps to yours.
