That's the one! Thank you! The detail covered in the "continuous
startup tone" section in superb. I've got three or four motherboards
with that fault, all (IIRC) fitted with Econet too.

Next time I'm at work where my "overflow" stock of Beebs is, and I've
got a minute spare, I'll have a poke around.
