Oh. I was having a Commodore moment. :-) But those 15XX drives of course 
have their FDC inside the floppy drive.

I don't think any pins were bent, and I got the computer to boot up with the 
Acorn 1770 DFS message. The data cable goes directly into the drive, no 
connector on the back side. At a later point I may disassemble it to see 
that it attaches to something. If it wasn't for shipping expenses, I could 
get another known good floppy drive just for comparison.
