It certainly is possible, it's one of the projects I investigated the
feasibility of to some detail but then decided not to progress

Basically the killer is the 2k effective sector size on ISO9660 discs, this
would make PAGE very high very quickly. The hardware is in place already via
the 16 bit IDE interface,
