Subject: A quick question about EPROM programming
Thanks Pete,
the plan is to change the voltage regulator in the programmer and I can use
it for 12.5v parts with a twist of a variable resistor.
I suppose I have a related question, can I drop in a 27512 for example, tell
the programmer it's a 27128 and expect it to work like one? Obviously I wouldn't
be using the full capacity of the EPROM. 27128 are getting a bit harder to
get hold of...
Cheers,
Ian

Other than the voltage difference, does anyone know if the programming algorithms
or anything else are different for a given EPROM, say a 27128?
Different makes have slightly different "fast" algorithms, but if you
use a basic programming algorithm that should work for virtually any
27128 (or 27C128 or 2764, etc). That's not quite true of all 27256 and
bigger, though.
