Hi guys,

I'm probably well over the "off topic" line with this one (not to 
mention that it's a massive long shot) but... are there any ex-BBC 
Engineering folk on-list?

I came across this a couple of hours ago:

Basically, a description of the old (~1985) BBC Computer Originated 
World logo/ident generator box. Does anyone have any other info kicking 
around about this beastie? The article on BBCEng mentions a 'custom 
compression format' which I'd rather like to find more info on, and 
maybe some info on the antialiasing engine and the hardware itself...

I'd like to have a crack at doing an FPGA reimplementation, just for 
grins. That "copious spare time" argument again ;)
